Privacy & Safety

Timeline Shift AI™ is a reflective decision-support tool, not a therapist, medical service, crisis service, or substitute for professional care.

What stays in your browser

Your completed check-in summaries, stage history, unfinished check-in state and limited status of possibilities explored during a Decision Filter are stored in this browser's local storage. A possibility is kept only as a short theme with a status such as open, does not fit or uncertain; it is not stored as a fact about you. These records are not placed in a Timeline Shift account or database in this version. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to see them. You can use Clear History at any time.

What is sent to generate a response

When you press Send, your message and a limited amount of recent conversation context are sent to the Timeline Shift server and then to OpenAI so a response can be generated. That context may include the short theme and current status of an earlier possibility so Timeline can respect a correction or recognise when new information makes it relevant again. Timeline Shift does not intentionally save those message contents or possibility records to its own database in this version. Service providers may process technical and message data under their own terms, settings, and retention practices.

Do not include information you would not want processed by an online AI service, such as full names, addresses, financial account details, passwords, or medical record numbers.

Voice input and read aloud

If you choose voice input, your browser asks for microphone permission. Where the browser provides speech recognition, its speech service may process audio under the browser or device provider's terms. Where it does not, the recording is sent securely to the Timeline Shift server and OpenAI's transcription service solely to create an editable transcript. Timeline Shift does not intentionally retain the recording. The transcript is not submitted as a Timeline message until you choose Send.

When you choose Play, the visible Timeline response is sent securely through the Timeline Shift server to OpenAI's speech service solely to create the spoken version. Timeline Shift does not intentionally retain the generated audio. Playback never starts automatically, including for sensitive responses, and the spoken words match the visible Timeline response.

Safety

The app can miss context or produce an unsuitable response. If you are in immediate danger or may act on thoughts of harming yourself, call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent mental health support in England, call NHS 111 and choose the mental health option. Samaritans are available free on 116 123.

Your control

Private-beta feedback

The optional Beta Feedback page sends only the answers entered on that page to the Timeline Shift team. It does not include your Timeline conversation or journey history. Feedback is delivered through our email provider and is used to evaluate and improve the private beta.

Beta access requests

The optional private-beta request form asks only for your first name, email address and a small amount of optional tester context. These submissions are saved in encrypted form on the Timeline Shift server, used to assign a sequential tester reference, and used to send immediate private-beta access details and a confirmation email. They are not added to your Timeline conversation or Journey Memory.

Tester records

Timeline Shift keeps a protected server-side beta tester list containing registration details, tester references, confirmation-email status and whether a feedback submission was linked by tester reference. It does not track private Journey Memory or check-in completion on the server in this version.
